The Dhaka Set Aquamarine Earrings are hand-fabricated by Jake in his New York City Studio. The setting takes its name from Dhaka muslin, a handwoven cotton from Bengal so fine that it was once known as “woven air.” Prized for centuries, the fabric’s techniques were lost by the early 20th century. In the same spirit, the Dhaka Setting is fabricated so finely that almost no metal is visible, leaving the aquamarine to appear held by little more than light. The setting is a quiet homage to a craft that disappeared, and to the importance of preserving the ones that remain.
